Bristol Improv Theatre
Bristol Improv Theatre
Bristol Improv Theatre is the UK’s first full-time dedicated improv theatre and a unique part of Bristol’s vibrant performing arts scene. Based in Clifton, the theatre creates, teaches and presents spontaneous theatre, comedy and unscripted live performances throughout the year.
The venue presents a constantly changing programme of improv shows featuring local performers and visiting artists from across the UK and overseas. Shows range from improvised plays and comedy to unusual formats, musical improvisation and interactive performances.
Bristol Improv Theatre is also home to an extensive Theatre School, offering improv courses, taster sessions, workshops and drop-in classes for people of all experience levels. Courses are designed to develop confidence, creativity, communication and performance skills.
The venue also hosts community events, film screenings, live music, workplace training and private events, creating a welcoming space where people can come together and take part in creative activities.
With its combination of live comedy, theatre, training and community, Bristol Improv Theatre offers a genuinely different night out and is an excellent example of Bristol’s independent creative culture.
