Plantuguese
Plantuguese
Plantuguese is an independent vegan Portuguese restaurant in the heart of Stokes Croft, Bristol, bringing the flavours and traditions of Portugal to the city through a completely plant-based menu.
Founded by Tiago and Gerda, Plantuguese combines Portuguese heritage with modern plant-based cooking. The restaurant was created to showcase authentic Portuguese flavours while demonstrating how traditional dishes can be reimagined without animal products.
The menu includes Portuguese-inspired small plates, sharing dishes and substantial mains, alongside creative desserts and Portuguese drinks. Popular dishes include plant-based versions of steak, scallops, sea bass, peri-peri chicken and the restaurant’s much-loved vegan pastel de nata.
The restaurant uses fresh and sustainable ingredients wherever possible, with many dishes prepared from scratch. The warm, Portuguese-inspired surroundings create a relaxed setting suitable for lunch, dinner, date nights, celebrations and meals with friends.
Plantuguese offers something genuinely different within Bristol’s thriving vegan food scene — authentic Portuguese cuisine reimagined for a plant-based world.
